Bijapur/Kolar - Sep 6 : It has been reported that two school teachers who had been suspended by the authorities for wrong doing have been included in this year’s District level 'Best Teacher' award , which is awarded every year for the teachers who excel in their profession from Bijapur and Kolar Districts..
The first incident has been reported from Bijapur District. SM Inamdar - a school teacher belonging to India UBM PS School has been selected for the 'Best Teacher Award' . Apparently, this Inamdar was suspended in April 2008 for helping a student to copy in the SSLC exam !
The other incident has been reported from Kolar District. MPS School teacher M K Cahudary who was suspended for his misbehaviour has also been awarded the “Best Teacher award .
Both these teachers received the awards on September 5, 2012 in their respective Districts during the official teachers' day programme.
It has reported that, awards to these suspended teachers have brought an embarrassment to the deserving good teachers who also received the award on same day through merit !
When the matter was brought to the notice of State Education Department's Deputy Director BN Hakim, he promised to take immediate action by withdrawing the awards from those two tainted teachers.
It is learnt that, awards to those suspended teachers were recommended by the Taluk Level Education Officers.
