Muscat, Sep 11: The Feast of Nativity, popularly known as Monthi Fest, celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Ruwi on 8th September 2012. This year was the silver jubilee celebrations of the Monthi Fest in Muscat and hence, the whole function was meticulously planned to highlight the grandeur of Coastal Karnataka’s Catholic tradition and sincere love to Mother Mary. “It was the blessings of Late Father Augustine Antao that we, the Mangalorean Community of Muscat, started this feast in Oman twenty five years ago” says Henry Martis, the prominent member of the Nativity Feast committee and core team member of MCCP. “ I strongly believe that we are one of the first Parishes in the Gulf region to celebrate this magnificent and traditional event. We are thankful to all the benefactors and supporters, specially to Gerry D Mello, past main coordinator of the Nativity Feast committee, who have extended their wholehearted support to the community and made this mission possible.”

Hearty congratulations to all of you at Ruwi Church Muscat. I can see Stanley, Apoline and many others are full of spirit of Nativity festival celebration. This church was my first church in gulf and I still remember my good old memories when I lived there during 1985 to 1998. In this church I had tremendous spiritual experience.

My best wishes to all of you mangaloreans at muscat.
