Mangalore: Two Chain Snatchers Arrested

Mangalore, Oct 26: Police have arrested two persons in connection with a chain snatching incident reported on May 17.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Shafi (38) of Kannur and Mohammed Faizal from Ullal.

The accused had allegedly snatched gold chain weighing 28 grams worth Rs 80,000 from Kusuma of Kilpady village in Mulky on May 17. The incident took place when Kusuma was on her way back home after buying milk. Meanwhile, the two unknown persons who came to her asking for an address snatched her chain and fled from the spot.

Police have recovered the chain sold by the accussed at a jewellery shop.

The arrested were produced before the court and are remanded into judicial custody.
