Karkala, Oct 27: Deanery SCCs convention of Udupi diocese was held at Belman church premises on October 26.
Fr Lawrence D'souza, the parish priest of Belman presided over the inaugural function. Fr Charles Noronha, Fr Victor D'Souza the SCC deanery convener and the event organiser, Fr Walter D'Souza the director of SCCs Mangalore diocese were present.
Nancy welcomed the gathering and Fr Victor compered the whole programme.
Fr Gerald Issac Lobo, the Bishop of Udupi diocese visited the convention and spoke on the importance of strengthening SCCs in his diocese. SCCs will be one of the main pastoral importance task in his diocese he said.
Fr Stany Tauro, the vicar forane was present. Fr Walter and Robert D'Souza of Bendur were the resource persons.
The convention included a input session on the importance service activities in SCCs, Parish wise report, question answer session on SCCs to clarify doubts.
Fr Victor proposed the vote of thanks. Nearly 220 people participated in this convention from 12 parishes.
