Sullia: 23-year-old Drowns in Payaswini River

Sullia, Oct 29 : Cases of drowning in the undivided district of Dakshina Kannada continue unabated, with yet another young life being lost on Sunday October 28, at Payaswini river, Halegetu here.

The deceased has been identified as Sunil (23), a painter by profession and son of Padmanabha and Jayanti of Halegetu.

Sunil had been to the river with his friend on Sunday noon for a bath.

His body was found after an extensive search that lasted four hours. Home guards, fire squad and locals carried out the rescue operations.

Sunil leaves behind his father, mother and two sisters.
