Honnavar, Oct 30: In a tragic incident, three students who were on their college educational tour drowned at Apsarakonda beach here on Monday October 29.
The deceased are identified as Veeresh Mahesh Chenna Shetty from Badami, Shashikanth Kalwada Laxmishwara and Haveri Chethana Kumari Yellappa Madiyala, both from Gadag district. They were BE students of Gadag Lakshmeshwara.
Sources said that a group of 40 students were on a four-day college educational tour. After visiting Sirsi, Horanadu, Kollur and other places, they had been to Apsarakonda beach where the three students drowned after they were pulled in by strong waves.
A case is registered at Manki police station.
