Mangalore, Oct 30:
The district committee of Congress organized a protest in front of the deputy commissioner's office here on Tuesday October 30, urging the BJP-led state government to give accounts regarding the Rs 80,000 crore grant released by the centre to the state for various projects.

Addressing the gathering, AICC secretary Vinay Kumar Sorake said that the state BJP has been insisting on more funds from the center every morning, but the money released to the state by the center was not utilized for the right purposes.

"Hence Congress being the opposition party in the state has every right to demand for accounts of the money released by the center to the state as per federal policies. Such is the condition that in every government office, commission business has been taking place," he rued.

District Congress president B Ramanath Rai said that the BJP-led state government has been providing wrong information with regard to money released to the state by the central government. He slammed the BJP for involving in corruption and said that the party should be routed out.

Making a similar demand, KPCC secretary Ivan D’Souza said that under Indira Awaz Yojana, the center released 75 percent of the total money; for irrigation projects the center's share was 90 percent; for Prime Minister’s Grama Sadak Yojana the center allotted 100 percent funds, and for national rural drinking water project the center released 50 percent of the total amount.

"However, the state government is claiming and projecting every welfare and development work as its own," he said.

For Akshara Dasoha and MGNERGA schemes too, the center provides 100 percent of the funds, he added.

Leaders like Shashidhar Hegde, Suresh Ballal, P H Abdul Khader, B Ibrahim, G A Bava, Farooq Ullal, Abdul Azeez, Arun Coelho, T K Sudhir among others were present.

Congress needs accountability of 80,000 Crores by BJP Government in Karnataka. Well, if they ask CM of Karnataka he can give all the details. But, same time can you pls ask Central Government too, to give accountability of 1,76,000 Lakhs Crores of 2G Scam and 1,80,000 Lakhs Crores of Coal Mining Scam? Make the total of both and reduce 80,000 Crores of BJP Government’s responsibility, I think few Congress Men may not be knowing how many Zeros required to make one such crore but they do have crores of rupees in their possession
