Karkala, Nov 6: “Men do not obtain pride through earning and feeding his family, but women are the ones who can lead the family into the right path”, said Navodhya Grama Vikasa charitable trust (R) managing trustee, SCDCC bank president MN Rajendra Kumar.
He presided over the programme for the distribution of uniforms to the Navodaya self helf group organized by Navodaya Gram Vikasa Charitable Trust in Hiryangadi Mahaveera convention hall in Karkala on Saturday.
Ravindra Bhat, treasurer of Karkala Venktramana Temple, after distributing the uniforms to the group said that, "women have the power of working together, if a woman takes pride in her work then she can bring the country forth".
Professor M Balakrishna Shetty , principal Kateel Shri Durga Parmeshwari College chief guest said that while earlier the motto used to be ‘Work is the trait of man’, now due to the introductions of such self help groups it can be changed to 'Work is a human trait'.
MN Rajendra Kumar distributed the scholarships and cheques on behalf of the Chaitaniya insurance claim to the beneficiaries.
SCDCC bank director B Ranjan, Vadhiraj Shetty, Raju Poojary, Rohan Monteiro, Sudharshan Jain Bantwal, Monappa Shetty Bajpe, Sudheer Hegde Bylooru were present at the occasion.
Raju Poojary welcomed the gathering, Naryana delivered the vote of thanks and Mohandas G Prabhu compered the programme.
