M'lore: Konkani Drama ‘Bhagvan Vedavyasa’ Staged by Konkani Samskrutika Sangha

Mangalore, Nov 7: Konkani Samskrutika Sangha (R) enacted the mythalogical Konkani drama ‘Bhagvan Vedavyasa’ at Town Hall, here on Tuesday November 6.

The drama was written and directed by Shantaram Kudva, Moodabidire.

The enthusiastic members of the Sangh performed their roles very well to the full house audience. Audience enjoyed the every minute of the two hour drama which was well supported by the quality sound, light and music.

Being a weekday people showing interest in a cultural activity in large numbers is a rare phenomenon, but the hall was jam-packed on the day. There were four artists who were above the age of 60 in the drama which was very inspiring to the younger generation.

The show was inaugurated by Basti Vaman Shenoy, president of World Konkani Centre, Magalpady Namdev Shenoy – managing trustee, Vitobha Temple Mangalore, T Ganapathi Pai, secretary of All Temple Association, Kasragodu Chinna – president, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, A L Kamath – chartered accountant, Srikar Prabhu – president, Mangalore South BJP, Pulkeri Ganesh Kamth, Chandramathi Rao were the guests of honour.

Prafulla Hegde, Sathyabham Kamath, Venkatesh Baliga, M R Kamath, Govindraya Prabhu, M.Dinesh Bhat, Praveen Kamath, Veena Kamath, Narayan Kamath, Geetha Kamath, Mohini Kudva, Meenakshi Pai, Santhosh Shenoy, Prakash Nayak, Master Abhay Pai, Master Gajanana Nayak and Venkatesh Baliga performed in the drama.

Prior to the drama Vrinda Nayak and associates performed Konkani Vyasa Keertana.

Secretary Ratnakar Kudva compeered the programme.
