Mangalore, Dec 3: The elections for the Senate of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka were held on November 27.

RGUHS being the premier health university in the country known for several revolutionary initiatives to bring in the quality in education imparted in its affiliated colleges spread across the state of Karnataka numbering over 600 of them offering courses in medicine, dental sciences, AYUSH, Pharmaceutical sciences, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Allied health sciences ranging from bachelors program to PhD degree.

The counting of the votes was done on November 29 . Abhilash PV assistant professor from AJ Shetty Group of institutions, Mangalore has won this seat for the second term and has been elected for the apex body of the University,the senate membership in RGUHS , from the teachers constituency.

The vice chancellor Dr Sriprakash and the registrar Dr Prem Kumar of RGUHS have congratulated Abhilash on his victory.
