Sharjah, Dec 13: In its endeavor to bring communities together from all over UAE while motivating kids and people of all age groups to promote healthy lifestyle and fitness via running, jogging and walking, the 2012 Annual Fun Run was hosted recently by Body & Soul Health Club & Spa in Al Qasba Shurooq, Sharjah, UAE.
Around 1000 participants comprising of men, women, corporate teams including members of the Body & Soul Health Club & Spa, Sharjah and the Fire Fighting Services, Sharjah participated in the grand 2012 Annual GMC Ajman Fun Run. gmu_131212-1.jpg
The grand events of a 3 Km race for boys and girls under and over 12 years, 7 Km race for men and ladies and 7 Km race for corporate teams was flagged off at the starting point by Sultan Shattaf, Manager of Al Qasba Shurooq,and Sharjah-UAE.
Ali Magdy, Nauman and Bisher won the first, second prize and the third prize respectively in the 3 Km race for boys under 12 years.
Leen, Marian Magid, and Lahmar won the first, second and third in the 3 Kms race for girls under 12 categories respectively.
In the 3 Km race for boys above 12 years Ziyad bagged the first prize followed by Iqbal Amad and Mohammed Ziyad as first and second runners up of the event.
In the 3 Km race for girls above 12 years Sulakshana clearly emerged as the winner while Farah and Joyci ended up as first and second runners up.
The 7 Kms race for men was dominated by Abdul Azim, while Seraphin and Moosa emerged as the first and second Runner Up in the event.
Beverley bagged the first prize in the run for 7 Kms for ladies while Farah and Maha Moey emerged as first and second runners up.
Hassan, Brendon, Safwan emerged as winners in the 7 Kms corporate team race.
Besides the regular races, various fun activities such as aerobics demonstration, cycling studio demonstration, face painting, balloon folding, kick boxing, karate were also held during the event.
GMC Ajman Annual Fun Run, 2012 was sponsored by Leader Sports and supported by the Thumbay Group.
The entire event was organized by the Body and Soul Health Club & Spa, Al Qasba, Sharjah, the Hospitality Division of Thumbay Group with the kind support from Al Qasba Shurooq, Sharjah.
Sultan Shattaf, manager of Al Qasba Shurooq, Sharjah-UAE along with Moideen Farad C, director – Hospitality Division of Thumbay Group awarded the trophies, prizes and certificates to the winners of the prestigious events.
Trophies, certificates and a 3 month’s platinum, individual annual membership in Body & Soul Health Club at Al Qasba, Sharjah were awarded to the winners and runners of all the events.
The Sharjah Police extended their valuable support to the entire event by ensuring traffic free tracks for the participants.
