Dammam, Dec 29: Saudi Konkan Youngsters (SKY) Dammam celebrated its annual Christmas event ‘Nathalancho Dabaz’o on Thursday, December 20 at Hotel Dhahran International, Al Khobar.
The event began with lighting the ceremonial lamp by SKY president Ronald Fernandes, Shirthady and executive committee members.
An introduction by comperes Steevan Rodrigues and Anil Tauro was followed by prayer in Konkani led by Ivy Mathias. Christmas carols were sung by the children, which were organized by Ronald Anita Sequiera. The surprise guest was Santa Claus with his jingle bells and bag full of chocolates which made the children run after him.
President Ronald Fernandes, Shirthady welcomed the guests and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors for their continuous support and members for their dedicated services.
The audience was kept engrossed to the stage by a series of entertaining items. Kids and adults performed variety of cultural programmes like solo, group dances, singing, filmy dances, Bharatanatyam, magic show and skits were greeted with loud applause from the audience.
The highlight of the evening was the Kuswarachi Bati auction, Gold coin, Raffle draw and door prizes were given away to the winners.
One of the memorable moments everyone cherished was welcoming the visiting parents of the members to the stage and honoring them with a shawl. Distinguished guests and all the catechism teachers were honored with shawl and bouquet by SKY committee members. SKY vice president Mark Tellis conducted the honoring ceremony. SKY logo was inaugurated by SKY Committee members. Stany Mathias proposed the vote of thanks.

Delicious sumptuous dinner was served which was enjoyed by one and all.
Around 300 plus Konkani speaking people including kids and teenagers actively participated in this family event. People enjoyed the evening to the fullest and are looking forward to the next SKY gathering.
