Mangalore: Truck Transporting Bikes to Kozhikode Topples

Mangalore, Jan 10: A truck transporting brand new motorbikes toppled near Karavali College here on Wednesday January 9.

The truck was plying from Aurangabad to Kozhikode.

The accident occured when the driver of the truck tried to avoid hitting a bus which was trying to overtake. In the process, the driver lost control and the truck toppled.

The truck was being driver by Anil from Aurangabad. He was transporting 60 Bajaj bikes to Kozhikode.

The road where the accident took place is undergoing repair work, and hence there was not enough space for the both vehicles to pass simultaneously, eyewitnesses said.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

A case has been registered in the west traffic police station.

    Thank God, no one got injured and not much damage to the bikes. Police should ban such huge trucks plying on road in daytime. Due to the conditions of the roads day-by-day people are becoming impatient and everyone is in a hurry to overtake one or the other vehicle. Trucks transporting cars, bikes, tobacco etc. should be allowed on roads only in night to avoid road congestion and accidents like this
