Karkala: Newborn Found at Parpale Hill Dies in Hospital

Karkala, Jan 16: The newborn male baby found at Parpale hill here on Sunday January 13 failed to respond to treatment and passed away on Tuesday January 15.

The newborn was found abandoned under a tree at Parpale hill with injury marks on its head and neck. The naval cord was stained with blood, indicating that the baby was abandoned only a few hours after birth.

The baby was found by the locals who heard its cries, and shifted to Wenlock hospital in Mangalore for further treatment.

The right side of the infant’s neck was found to be swollen, and there was bleeding in the mouth.  As the baby was finding it hard to breathe and because of the injury on the neck, it was suspected that an attempt had been made to strangle the baby.

It is learnt that a woman had arrived at the spot in an auto rickshaw and thrown the baby, causing grievous harm. Police have questioned a few auto drivers in this regard.

Town police are investigating the case.

    What the mother gained from this kind of cruel act? Will she can forget this until her last breath? Whatever the circumstances it may be…she should have taken the decision at the early stage whether to give birth to that child or to terminate the child. If the mother can carry the child for 9 months and then after delivering the child commits this kind of crime…better not to carry the child and get terminate the pregnancy at the early stage instead of this cruel act. Or make a decision to leave the child at any orphanage. There are zillions of couples who are dying and longing to have kids, and here… look at the scenario!!! What kind of humans we are???
