Bantwal: Melkar Women's College Celebrates Annual Day

Bantwal, Jan 20: The annual day celebrations of Melkar Womens PU and Degree College, Marnabail, was held here on Saturday January 19 at the college premises.

B S Basheer, president, Jameeyath-ul-falah Mangalore corporation unit, Mansor Ahmad, proprietor, Azad Hardware, Mangalore were the chief guests.

In their talk they lauded the college for educating many poor students and the chairman of the institution S M Rasheed Haji for establishing the college in the rural place.

Another guest of honour Hyder Ali (chairman, Prestige International School) said that education takes students to the ultimate called ‘morality’.

C K M Rafai, diesel mechanic engineer from Quatar also spoke on the occasion. He said that girls should be educated and said that the dream of the chairperson to have more than 450 students in PU and degree sections has been fulfilled.

The trustees S Abbas, Riyaz Bava, Johar were also present during the program.

Chairperson felicitated the principal Abdul Latheef for his administration and also felicitated the top scorers of the academic year 2011-12, Jumaila (II science), Shanti marina Vegias (II commerce), Harshiya K (II arts).

Fathima Shamiya of I BCom compered the programme. Angeline sunitha (lecturer in English) welcomed. Viana Lobo (lecturer in Chemistry) proposed the vote of thanks.
