Udupi: Man arrested for supplying drugs to students

Udupi, Jan 23: DCIB police on Tuesday January 22 arrested a youth for supplying ganja to students of Udupi-Manipal area.

The arrested is identified as Mohammed Iqbal (28), resident of Kodi in Ullal. He was arrested near Badagabettu gram panchayat office.

Rs 420 cash and 580 grams of ganja worth Rs 16,000 were seized by the police.

Police team headed by DCIB inspector Praveen H Nayak  on receiving authentic information caught him red-handed. Police sources said that Iqbal has been buying ganja from Uppala in Kasargod and selling it to students in different places since long.

Under the guidance of SP Dr MB Boralingaiah, ASI Narayana, HC Yogendranath, Vaman, Udaya Kunder, Ratnakar, Dinesh Shetty, Ashok Kumar, Rajesh, Sathish and driver Chandrashekar were part of the investigation.

    Simply neglect the comments of some people who drag a particular community for any crime. The criminals have no religion. With regard to this drug supplier, I wish we had Sharia Law in India, particularly for cases like rape, murder and drugs. If he is proved guilty, behead this animal.
