Melwyn Peris Nite at Marol woos Konkani music fans

Mumbai, Jan 29: Renowned singer Melwyn Peris from Mangalore enthralled the Konkani fans with popular Konkani numbers on Sunday January 27.

The ‘Melwyn Peris Nite’ was organized by Konkan Kala Manch association at St Vincent Pallotti church premises in Marol, Andheri (East).

Fr Charles Fernandes, parish priest in his address said such programmes are important for the growth of Konkani language. He also thanked the organizers of the programme for showing concern towards the language.

Harry Rebello (Caravan) Chembur, Fr Baptist Pais, parish priest of Sacred Heart Church, Rony Goveas, Dr Leena Pinto, Gilbert Mendonca, Walter D’Souza JerryMerry, Captain Pinto, Francis Fernandes Cascia, Philomena Clement Lobo, John Fernandes, Francis Tony Almeida, Canit D’Silva among others were guests of honour.

Clement Abraham Lobo, president of Kala Manch welcomed the gathering and Ancy Palladka, chief secretary compered the stage programme.

Melwyn Peris and group performed musical nite, Rony D’Cunha and Dan Almeida presented dance while the comedy duo of Jerry Rasquinha and Joseph D’Souza took the crowd on a laughter ride.

The event was compered by Melita Pinto.

The musical nite was the grand success and received rousing response from the audience
