Dubai, Feb 20: Kannada Geleyara Balaga (KGB) an association of like minded Kannadigas in UAE for the first time successfully conducted the blood donation campaign at Sheikha Latifa Hospital, Dubai recently. The campaign opened up at around 2 pm and went on till 4 pm with large number of people voluntarily pouring in to donate blood for a good cause.
Out of 80 donors present around 60 could finally donate their blood whereas the rest were not able to do so because of reduced count of hemoglobin and/or high blood pressure. In one way it is good to come to the Centre for blood donation so that one can get to know the health condition and take care of it wisely and timely.
It was nice to see maximum participation of ladies from Kannada Geleyara Balaga which created a record for this great cause. Many of them have come far away from Ajman, Sharjah and other Emirates.
Well known Swadhist Restaurant's Suresh Nooraje was the first one to donate blood and not only that he arranged distribution of fruits and light lunch, juices and water to all the donors present. Of the women donors, Vijaya Manjunath, Suma Gajare, Bhagyalaxmi Shekhar were the first ones while Jyothirmaye Prakash, Prema Nagalur, Pallavi Basavaraj, Shilpa Siddu, Rajeshwari, Shubha Arun, Vinutha Chandrashekar, Sandhya Ravi Kumar have actively participated in the programme.
Around 10 staff of Precision Group along with Biju Kumar and around 15 members of ABB Group also participated enthusiastically in this campaign.
Supporting the blood donation campaign of Kannada Geleyara Balaga, Balakrishna Salian of Mogaveers UAE was the main man behind the event while Shodhan Prasad of Nama Tuluveru and Daijiworld supported them. Other community members who supported were Shashidhar Nagarajappa and Chandrashekar Sankole of Karnataka Sangha Dubai, Murugesh Gajarae of Basava Samithi, Shanthaveera Ganavari of Inchara Thanda etc.
Members including Manjunatha Yaji, Vishwas R., Manjunath Dharwad, Prakash Bedaga, Ravikumar, Raghavendra N.C., Natarajayya, Jagadish, S. Denzil, Chennayya Roogi, Santosh Kumar Patel, Prashanth R., Soorya, Basavaraj Mamadapur, Basavaraj Salimath, Marishantaveera Genavari, Venu Ram, Shrinivasulu, Shekar T., Vivekananda, Bharat Nidanur, Harris, Abdul Munir, Suhas Satyanarayana, Satish Urinakal, Sunil Kumar, Sheikh, Rafiq, Revappa, Suresh Masur, Puttaraju, Sudhir Bhandary were some of the really enthusiastic who actively participated in this blood donation campaign.
Senior Executive Members of KGB, Iranna Mulimani, Basavaraj Salimath, Natarajayya, Thippeswamy, Umesh Narayana, Venu Ram, Prashanth Raghavendra, Raghavendra N C, Pallavi Basavaraj, Sumangala Gajare, Jyothirmaya Prakash worked honestly in preparing for this campaign in a very short notice.
