Udupi, Feb 22: BJP MLA Raghupati Bhat said that the Congress is talking unsubstantially about a corruption-free government. The BJP, meanwhile, has strongly shown the public the meaning of a government with development without corruption. He was speaking at a press meet at the BJP office for announcement of candidated for the Municipal Council (CMC) poll on Friday February 22.
“The state BJP government has spent Rs 120 crore on development of the district which is a record. Till date, Congress has spent a maximum of Rs 66 lac. When S M Krishna was chief minister, he had sanctioned a loan of Rs 128 crore and now our state government is liable to pay that amount with 13 percent interest. This time, voting will be based on development,” he added.

This time, seven sitting members have been replaced, including Kiran Kumar, former president, CMC.
Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, chairman, Karnataka Coastal Development Authority (CDA), Yashpal Suvarna, president, DK and Udupi District Fisheries Federation and Udupi councilor, Upendra Nayak, president, zilla panchayat, and Kiran Kumar, former president, CMC, were present.
