Mangalore: District officials inspect cleanliness standards in city

Mangalore, Feb 28: In an effort to enhance cleanliness standards in the city, the district officials on Wednesday February 27 inspected several areas under MCC limits to check solid waste disposal and hygiene levels.

Deputy commissioner, MCC commissioner, ZP CEO and environmental engineers inspected areas in Falnir Road, Kankanady, Shanthinilaya Road, Nandhi Gudde, Pandeshwara, Court, Dakke, Central Market, Carstreet, Bundar, Kudroli, Mannagudde, Urwa, Kottara, Bejjai, Kadri, Shivabhagh, Bendoor, and others under the limits of MCC.

They lauded people for maintaining cleanliness in some of the places.

Upon inspection in places like Falnir Road, Kankanady and Valencia, it was found that solid waste disposal was not maintained properly. The DC ordered removal of health inspectors of the respective areas for not taking necessary action to maintain cleanliness.
