Mangalore, Mar 1: “BJP does not value its words and is deceiving the people of the state from five years. In the history of Karnataka, people have never come across such a corrupt government like that of the BJP. Within two months, it is going to end its regime in Karnataka. In five years of its rule, it has assaulted women, vandalized worship centers, and reached the heights of invasion. In the present government, 70 percent ministers are involved in corruption,” said former union minister B Janardhana Poojary addressing the press meet held at the district Congress office on Thursday February 28.

He slammed the present BJP government and said that the BJP is incapable of ruling the state as well the district, city corporation, or panchayat, now they are flowing streams of money to buy votes as the money was gained from corruption. “When Congress was in rule in MCC, it reduced the property tax, but after the BJP came to power, it has increased property tax by 10 percent and deceived middle and poor class people. People have suffered due to their policies. The foot paths on streets are incomplete. Even the drainage systems in lower areas are not proper as they have not implemented plans of sewage water treatment. Also, water deregulation work is pending,” added Poojary.

Poojary also said that people should support the Congress party to win the MCC elections and if it comes to power, we promise that there will be no increase in property tax or water tax and will make this district a role model for society. “If the people vote for JD(S), it will never win and that makes it profitable for the BJP. So, people should choose Congress as their party. BJP and JD(S) are the same faces of a single coin,” he said.

On Saturday March 2, Oscar Fernandes will release the election manifesto of the Congress party.  B Ramanatha Rai, P V Mohan, Vijayakumar Shetty, and Harikrishna Bantwal were among those present on this occasion.
