M'lore: 'Experience America' programme forays into second day at City Centre Mall

Mangalore, Mar 3: The second day of ‘Experience America’ organized by the US consulate general, Chennai , here on Saturday March 2, grabbed the attention of several visitors who flocked to the City Center Mall to watch the various programmes and competitions.

Judy Reinke, minister-counselor for commercial affairs US consulate, inaugurated the second day programme of 'Experience America'; after inaugurating the occasion talking to the media, she expressed gratitude to Mangalore and said, "Mangalore is place which is rich in vegetation; the scenic beauty of this place has impressed me a lot, the Mangalore airport is fully fledged, and these is a prescence of a good civil society. This programme has been organized to promote tourism, education, business and good relations between two countries".

David Gainer public affairs officer, Chennai, said, "this is the first time in Mangalore that we are hosting this ‘Experience America’ programme. Earlier we have coordinated this programme in various parts of the nation like Mysore, Coimbatore, and Trivandrum. The ‘Experience America’ is set up to promote education, tourism, business. This programme also helps get to know more about America".

"The second day of the programme will showcase various quizzes, ice-cream tasting competitions with attractive prizes to be won. The individuals who are interested get more information via facebook. Through this, in the future the team will keep in contact with the individual through web conferences or facebook chat. We also have tie-ups with Sahyadri and university of Manipal to provide education in America.   

Many participated in general quiz competitions all questions were related to the American aspects.

In the ice-cream eating competition, Sanjay won the prize by eating the ice-cream in 59 seconds.

Shanna Dietz Surendra, cultural affairs officer of US Consulate General, Chennai was present on this occasion.
