Mangalore: Insignia valedictory conducted at AIMIT

Mangalore, Mar 14: Insignia 2013, the management fest conducted at AIMIT, St Aloysius College, Mangalore, concluded on March 12.

The valedictory function commenced with a thanks giving hymn by the college choir. Justin James, the faculty co-coordinator of Insignia welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests on stage.

The chief guest for the occasion Gopikrishna Kunnonathan, associate vice president, Infosys, spoke about the IT industry: about creating an eco system and technology how “apple” has incorporated it.

He also mentioned that the scope of innovation and entrepreneurship is growing and every individual should focus on becoming an entrepreneur and grow with innovative ideas. We as individuals should be pro-active and be ready to face any situation or problems that come our way which blend the educational mind that create something new.

The guest of honour Giridhar Prabhu, MD and CEO of Achal Industries spoke about change and innovation as the key to success. He stated the need for each individual to incorporate change and adopt technology to remain updated.

 The participants from various B-schools all over India were asked to give their valuable feedback. On a positive note, the representatives of the Teams hailed the event for being one of the most innovative and creative events which lived up to its theme in exploring breakthrough innovation.

 They highly appreciated the effort and goodwill of the AIMIT family in providing incomparable hospitality and unforgettable experiences.     
 
Fr  Oswald Mascarenhas, chairman, MBA at AIMIT, the impetus and inspiration behind the success of Insignia 2013, harkened a call to all young minds in whom the future of India lies,  to be innovative to achieve progress.

“ Innovation is a continuous process and it should not stopped even when the age progresses” he said. He emphasised that every day is a new beginning and innovation helps to make it happen.

Lanson D’souza the student co-ordinator of Insignia 2013 proposed the vote of thanks by thanking the management, the participants and the students for their continuous support, and contribution in making Insignia 2013 a grand success.

Jain University, Bangalore was the overall champions of Insignia 2013. Justice KS Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte were the overall runners up.

A hard day of corporate events on Day-1 of Insignia 2013 ended with a cultural program wherein the students of Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT) showcased their creative and talented avatar.

The AIMIT amphitheatre was a perfect setting for the colourful evening.

A 4-hour cultural extravaganza was a mystic fusion of music, dance, humorous skits, creative puppet show and shadow dances.

The highlight of the show was the dance performance of Fr Oswald Mascarenhas , chairman, AIMIT MBA and Fr Denzil Lobo, director, AIMIT.

The show stoppers were the ethnic fashion show and the fire dance. The show ended with a live performance from the college band.

As anchors, Suraj Bhat and Pritam Ammana entertained throughout the show.
