Delivering a talk on total knee arthroplasty - specifically in Asian knees, Dr Shaher Hasanain orthopedic surgeon, American Hospital Dubai said that ‘Medical literature has documented some unique features of the Asian knee’. We believe that there are systemic, anatomical, and functional features that are unique in Asian patients.”

“Activities of daily living in Asians require high flexion and surgeons should always strive to obtain better flexion and use implants which are friendlier to flexion. Most patients submit to surgery at advanced stage which makes surgery more challenging, requiring less bone resection and more soft tissue release,” felt Dr Hasanain.
