Al-Jubail, Mar 19: Under the patronage of well-known business establishment in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia, Nabel Al Ghanem Contracting (NGC) sponsored 10-over Cricket Knock-out Tournament, 'NGC Trophy – 2013,' was held on Friday March 8, 15 at JCA ground, here.
The winner's and runner's trophy were sponsored by Nabel Al Ghanem Contracting (NGC), one of the leading contracting and manpower company established by the business tycoon Mohammed Ismail Krishnapura, in Al-Jubail city, eastern region of Saudi Arabia.
The NGC Trophy 2013 event was organized with commitments by the NGC team manager Mansoor Krishnapura, the captain Anees and his team members.
All the matches were played under the sunlight, starting at 7 am. In the Quarter final, NGC chased the huge score with the help of opening batsman Aaris Bajal who scored 20 runs, and at the end well-known batsman Azad, who scored 44 runs out of 10 balls with the huge sixes and boundaries. Breathtaking performance and huge contribution in score board made NGC to succeed against the strong team OCC JUBAIL who scored 135 runs.
In the other side; Team expertise played wonderful innings in their quarter final and made entry to play against NGC in the semifinal, meanwhile AMACO won quarter final against BLUE-STAR and entered the semifinal to play against Khobar-United.
At the 1st Semi Final, Prominent batsman Zuhaib played great innings for EXPERTISE TEAM batting 54 Runs out of 26 Balls, He terrified all the face and spin bowlers of NGC, Expertise Team gathered 109 run as a target for NGC. The reaction by the batsman of NGC Aaris scored 41 Runs for NGC by playing 18 balls, his wonderful start and at the ending stage Virat Kohli of NGC Ansaf thrashed few huge sixes and he did green signal for NGC TEAM to reach the final match of the tournament.
In the second semi-final AMACO started the innings by batting first, Rameez the opening batsman entertained his fans by hitting huge hat-trick sixes in the first over bowled by the skipper of Khobar United Dildar, It was an wonderful start and AMACO team given target of 93 runs for KHOBAR UNITED, The batting effort and poor batting line up of KHOBAR UNITED acknowledged the defeat and made team AMACO to enter the final to play against the high-flying team NGC.
Both the semifinal match entertained the spectators who gather around the JCA ground to watch the ever seen even organized by NGC for NGC TROPHY 2013.
The final match battle between AMACO vs NGC was overpowering and spectators enjoyed the stunning match, AMACO started the innings by batting first, Asif the captain of AMACO played responsible innings as an opening batsman by two four and one huge six, In the beginning, the partnership score of Asif and Afwan made very good progress in score board and later Nazeer added 20 runs. AMACO team set up 97 runs as a target to NGC team to win the grand finale.
As a response to AMACO team, NGC started chasing 97 runs. The opening batsman Aaris Bajal joining with the striking batsman captain of NGC Anis who played responsible innings, both the opening batsman’s effort turned positive to gather more and more runs in the beginning, Bowler Ismail gave the break for thundering performance of Aris Bajal, his innings came to an end after the powerful innings played by him scoring 27 runs (three sixes, two fours) to the score board of NGC against AMACO in the grand finale, Hope was still alive for NGC because the captain Anis was keep on giving danger sign for the opponent by his tremendous hitting of three sixes and two fours in this grand finale, captain of NGC Anis gathered 40 runs to the score board by his electrifying performance, at the end Ansaf joined the captain and brought wonderful victory for NGC in the grand finale against team AMACO.
Chief guests and hundreds of cricket fans witnessed the grand finale held between team AMACO vs team NGC. After a prolonged battle under the eye-catching sunlight, NGC team inflicted defeat on team AMACO. The victory was marked by the team spirit and excellent game plan of NGC captain, Anis, who utilized the team resources well. As such, NGC team deservedly lifted the 'NGC Trophy- 2013'.
Experienced cricketer Dawood 8th A, Shakir and Abbas supported the tournament organizers by discharging responsibility in the capacity as umpires for the matches.
Well known commentator Imran Krishnapura (MAK CONTRCATING Co) and Saifullah Thodar (Partner of Mangalore Restaurant Jubail) dubbed as commentator for the final match.
A colorful finale trophy presentation ceremony was witnessed by hundreds of cricket fans who enjoyed the match by cheering and bursting crackers all around the ground. The presentation ceremony was nicely arranged by Imran Krishnapura and Saifullah Thodar.
Imthiyaz Krishnapura (NGC Partner) Abdul Razak (managing director of MAK CONTRACATING Co Al-Jubail) and Imthiyaz Katipalla participated as chief guests.
Chief guest Abdul Razak (managing director of MAK CONTRACTING Al-Jubail) presented gifts to the winners and runners. He also handed over the 'man of the match’ and ‘Man of the Series’ award to Anis of NGC, who played a wonderful game in the grand finale event.
Imtiyaz Krishnapura (NGC) distributed trophies to the best performers of each of the matches.
Another chief guest, BS Ahmed (Ex-committee member Badria Jumma Masjid Krishnapura), presented the magnificent trophy to the captain of NGC, Anis. All players of the winning team were also awarded with mobile phones by Imthiyaz Katipalla.
At the end, Imran Krishnapura thanked all the guests who had gathered to witness the presentation ceremony and everyone who had directly or indirectly supported team NGC's efforts in organizing this enormous, most well-planned event to have been witnessed in Al-Jubail.
On March 16, NGC Management organized an colorful event called “NGC Night“, a dinner party for the winning team members.
