Al Jubail, Mar 25: Toastmasters first ever joint Division ‘E’ & ‘L’ Annual conference was conducted on March 14 and March 15 at luxurious Royal Commission Fanateer Conference Hall, Al Jubail, KSA.
This was the first ever joint conference conducted in Jubail toastmasters fraternity, Mangalore based energetic enthusiastic leader Shameer Ahmed Kudroli was the conference chairman for this mega event.
It was a herculean task to arrange two full length contests of division E and L into the program agenda. The time management was a big success. This could happen by the timely execution of all events as published in agenda.
Presenting two renowned international speakers for the first time in Jubail toastmaster’s history in such a tight program was a challenge. However, the most satisfying thing that contributed to the success of the event was the flawless operation of all contests with no protest or concerns. This happened due to the hard work of entire organizing committee headed by Shameer and the right guidance from all the veteran toastmasters.
The special attraction of the event was key note speech and workshop by USA based TM Lancer Millar, 2005 World Champion of Public Speaking based on communication track and Irish DTM Ted Corcoran, International President 2003-2004 related on leadership path.
The efforts that the brotherhoods of both Divisions E and L have demonstrated are commendable and will serve as a role model for other Toastmasters to follow. The collective efforts and wisdoms that the various leaders and members have contributed to the success of the joint conference of Division E & L and exceeded the bar of excellence that have endeavored to attain.
This was not just a product of one mind but the magic of the collective wisdom of one and all. The lyrics of leadership wonderfully provided by two Division Governors – Division E Governor Abdullah Al Sharif and Division L Governor Dr Javed Ansari and the baton of leadership provided by conference chairman Shameer Ahmed Kudroli, the Maestro of the Conference have provided the impetus to make the conference all to be proud of.
The quality of performance of the various contestants in various speech categories will surely provide greater challenge to District Judges as well as to other contestants of various divisions.
Magnificent conference news magazine was released by District Governor DTM Nazeer Al Qasem and Immediate Past Dist. 79 Governor DTM Khaled Matlagaitu. Toastmasters like DTM Ben Guerra, Nori Guerra (area 11 governor) DTM Joey among the dignitaries were present from District 79 to witness the grand event. Eight area governors as district officers from division E & L were honored with splendid plaques for their service to their respective areas.
At the end the conference chairman Shameer thanked all his committee members for making this event a memorable. He appreciated the committee, “The good job done by TM Hamid Al Harthi and TM AK Das and team with wonderful and splendid awards. Contest Operations / logistic and S@A committee team led by the one and only TM Surendra Chari assisted by TM Zyiad Al Shabibi and team have contributed tremendously in just about every area and the commitment was amazing with extraordinary time management.”
Editorial, public relation and media committee led by DTM Vasudhar Gopal assisted by TM Abdullah Khalili and team toiled hard to present a beautiful magazine and E-magazine especially the creative mind of TM Abdullah.
Education and training committee team led by TM Asif Daudi assisted by TM Malik Al Yousef -gave us the World Champion 2005 and international president with high profile key note speeches.
Gratitude was expressed to TM Abdulaziz Al Sharek assisted by TM Meshal Al Anazi for their contribution in finance and marketing committee, their constant follow up with the sponsors was tremendous.
Registration team led by the one and only TM Jeyasankar assisted by TM Rayyan Hamza and team raised attendance levels.
Food Committee Chair –TM Aziz Siddiqui assisted by TM Bander Al Qahtani tickled taste buds all through the conference with some great and delicious food with different variety.
The Divisions expressed its gratitude to TM Khalid Al Hoshani assisted TM Seju Devis and team for reaching out to at crucial moments and without whose support the conference would probably never have taken place. He thanked Royal Commission management for providing such an auspicious venue for the conference.
The chairman thanked the anchor DTM Jacob and MTM Bhuwaneshwari for conducting the two divisions’ banner parade with ease. The parade music was melodious.
He congratulated Hamid Al Harthi and Abdullah Khalili for winning the award for theme and logo. Professional work by Dr George (first day) and budding Hamid Al Harthi (second day) as master of ceremonies and the contest masters for 4 segments - Bhaskar Patel, Abdulmajeed Al Zahrani, Meshal Al Anazi, Naresh Iyer.
Chairman appreciated the chief judges PGR Nair, PJJ Antony , NV Arasu, Zamil Akhtar, and panel of judges for their contribution to select the champions from Division E & L. Chairman showered appreciation towards the two strong pillars Abdullah Al Sharif, Division ‘E’ governor and Javed Ansari Division ‘L’ governor for the support and guidance throughout the preparation to make the conference a grand success.
After the winners’ announcement, raffle draw was conducted followed by sumptuous dinner.
