Mangalore, Mar 28: In a unique effort to preserve and promote an old art, Mandd Sobhann on Sunday March 24 organized the ‘Brass Band Artistes Conference’ to float the Brass Band Artistes Association.

Loy Noronha, owner of Symphony Institute of music was the chief guest who inaugurated the convention. 

On the occasion, Victor Vas provided information on self help groups while Prashanth Mali briefed on ‘group insurance’.

Professor Anil Danthi, research department head at Roshni Nilaya briefed on how he can help the brass band artistes association. Adding to that, Mandd Sobhan member Roy Castelino also assured his full support on behalf of Mandd Sobhann to the association.

During the conference, artistes along with members present decided to form an association of Brass Band Artistes. Along with it, the artistes also decided to meet again on April 9 to avail benefits through self-help groups, insurance and other schemes.

At the end, the Kalakul Repetory group presented a street play ‘Konkani Mojo Fudar’.

The whole programme was organized by Mandd Sobhann gurkar Eric Ozario while Stany Alvares, president welcomed the gathering.
