Kasargod, Apr 29: The local police have issued a lookout notice for a person, who has absconded after raping a five-year old girl. Details containing the photograph and other details about the accused have been dispatched to most districts of Karnataka and Kerala.

The police are trying to locate the whereabouts of Maruti (45), a native of Davangere in Karnataka, and till recently living in an accommodation in Hosdurg in the district.

Maruti reportedly raped a five-year-old daughter of a relative living near his home on April 17 this year. When the girl shouted, her mother came running. He had assaulted the woman then and threatened her of dire consequences if she either divulged the matter to others or took her daughter to a doctor.

Out of fear, the woman had kept quiet for several days, and desisted from referring her daughter, who was complaining of acute pain, to hospital. However, after the girl developed further complications and her pain aggravated, she admitted the girl into the district government hospital where the doctors confirmed that the girl had been raped. The girl’s condition is improving, the doctors said.

The police registered the case after the doctors found out what had happened. Hosadurg circle inspector of police, K V Venugopal, and sub-inspector, P K Jose, collected details. By the time they began investigation, Maruti fled from his residence and became untraceable.

what is going on these days in India?going back to ancient age?does men becoming a animal when they see a woman .cant he make difference between a child and adult?here I should blame the mother.a mother should protect her child even risking her own life and she kept quite for days seeing the martysm her child going through?here is something wrong.she didnt have anything in house a knife ,a stone to teach him a lesson? culprit had enough time to escape and allowed child to suffer.its useless to search him now he must be in some other district searching another offer. Lord, save this martyr to another child or girl.less chance to find him now.

We r fools!!! Govt. never take action on these people. When election comes many appear and knock the door. Once election is over they forget everything & busy in filling their pockets. How many elections v came across? Anything happened so far? Nothing happened and nothing will happen. Now it is the time for each and every woman to protest and chase all those who beg for votes.

O my god today again the same news!!!these rapists DONOT have mother. Sister. Or. Daughter? These donkey people must be taught to respect women. Death penalty is not a solution for these types of crimes. If any one come across a rapist he should be tortured and made to feel the same pain and agony that girl suffered during rape. One red hot iron bar or rod to be ed from the back side of a rapist. And he should b tortured physicAlly, in front of the girl. Then he will understand the sorrow of that girl.

We are white collared people supporting different parties (depending on our background). Our job is to read these articles and write some comments And Say, Kill him, Stone him, Death sentence, Italian Mafia, Reddy, Yeddy and Chaddi. We never go beyond this.

On the other hand, the culprits (irrespective if what is the crime) continue doing it.

This is our world. That is their world. Can we change this????

Main reason for the rape is consumption of Alcohol.
Many may argue in favor of liquor by calling themselves ‘social drinkers’. They Claim that they only have one or two pegs and they have self-control and so never get intoxicated. Investigations reveal that every alcoholic started as a social drinker. Not a single alcoholic or drunkard initially starts drinking with the intention of becoming an alcoholic or a drunkard. No social drinker can say that I have been having alcohol for several years and that I have so much self-control that I have never been intoxicated even a single time.

Suppose a ‘social drinker’ loses his self-control just once. In a state of intoxication he commits rape or incest. Even if the act is later regretted, a normal human being is likely to carry the guilt throughout his life. Both the perpetrator and the victim are irreparably and irreversibly damaged.

Medical doctors have now turned liberal towards alcoholics and call alcoholism a disease rather than an addiction.
If alcohol is a disease, it is the only disease that:
    - Is sold in bottles
    - Is advertised in newspapers, magazines, on radio and television
    - Has licensed outlets to spread it
    - Produces revenue for the government
    - Brings violent deaths on the highways
    - Destroys family life and increases crime
    - Has no germs or viral cause

There are several scientific reasons for the prohibition of consumption of intoxicants i.e. alcohol. The maximum number of deaths in the world related to any one particular cause is due to the consumption of alcohol. Millions of people die every year only because of intake of alcohol.

Going by your logic the world should also prohibit the use of Automobiles because Automobiles are responsible for a lot of the deaths in our societies.

I agree there is demerit using the Automobiles but equally merits too. To ease the transportation & many as you know.
Can you list the advantage of consumption of Alcohol?

Don't take my word for it Imran. Google 'benefits of alcohol consumption' for details.
Could you with the same confidence provide me with your source of your factually incorrect statement 'Main reason for the rape is consumption of Alcohol.'

Rape has become a new trend to gain publicity coz our silent PM and president only passes bill but forgets to implement it. INDIA has witnessed 363 rape cases in 2013 but not a single person have faced capital punishment. Implement Sharia LAW against this insane and see how the crime rate will come down.

Like in most Gulf countries, in India also policemen should do patrolling of areas throughout the day and night instead of relaxing in their police stations. There are areas where people do not have transport facility or telephone facility to call for assistance. This requires strict law and order and determination by our policemen which is very un-likely. John Carlo
