Bellary, May 17: Sharath, son of N R Sooryanarayana Reddy, who is a JD(S) leader and owner of granite industry in the town, is set to marry Atmita, daughter of Satyam Prasad Reddy from Chennai on May 29 at Leela Palace, Chennai. This marriage has created a record of sorts because of the fact that the invitations printed for this marriage cost a whopping Rs 15,000 a piece, whereas marriages of some poor people are conducted within this amount.

Two years back, there was news of Shilpa Shetty getting invitations costing Rs 12,000 each printed for her marriage with Raj Kundra. Ravish Printers Mumbai, who had printed Shilpa’s marriage invitation, are also involved with the present wedding invitation. These invitations have gold-plated words and gold-crafted designs, and are lined with precious stones. The box in which each invitation is packed, also contained foreign-made dry fruits chocolates, it is gathered. However, these invitations, about 1,000 of which are printed, are meant to be delivered to VVIPs. For people of the lower stature, invitations costing Rs 7,500 and Rs 450 each have also been got printed.
