Mangalore: Landslip at construction site in Kuntikan

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, May 20: Landslip occurred at the site of a multi-storied building under construction at Kuntikan in the city on Sunday May 19 morning. However, as no one was around at the time, no injuries or deaths are reported.

At the site, a hillock is being dug out for construction purposes. The site had witnessed a landslip which took away the life of a labourer, a few months back.

Some labourers had also suffered injuries in that incident, and the city corporation had served notice on the builders, instructing them to take preemptive safety measures before resuming further construction work. Thereafter, the concerned had provided cement plastering to the land mass standing near the construction site.

The landslip occurred at the spot again on Sunday. Luckily it occurred during the wee hours when no one was around.
