Mangalore: Rain provides breather from scorching heat

Mangalore, May 21: On the night of Monday May 20, the city and many places in the twin districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada received rain. Kasargod district also experienced good rain during this period. The rain was adequate to bring temperatures down to comfortable level. 

Puttur, Subrahmanya, Ullal, Tokkottu, Konaje, Suratkal, Mulky, Karkala and other places also reported good rain. Most of these places also experienced thunder and lightning. Power supply got severed at some places on account of rain. In a few places like Beltangady and Moodbidri, cloudy weather prevailed, and only a drizzle was experienced.

Temperature in the city registered a fall to 24 degree Celsius from the average of 29 degree Celsius on Tuesday morning.
