Udupi: ‘Darpan-2013’ thrills audience at Malpe beach

Udupi, May 21: ‘Darpan 2013’, a dance extravaganza organized by Prashanth and Group Dance Academy thrilled the audience with their stunning performances and thus enriched the joy at Malpe beach recently.

Entertainment with thrilling stunts performed by the chief guest team ‘Fictitious Group’ from Mumbai rocked the shores of Malpe.

Darpan 2013, a reflection of aspiration, was formally inaugurated by the students of the academy along with Gokuldas Nayak, CMC commissioner, Yashpal Suvarna, president, Fisheries Federation, Indralli Jayakar Shetty, Buvanendra Kidiyoor, Kidiyoor Hotel, and Ranjan Kalkura of Kalkura Builders, were present on the dais .

Prashanth, dance guru and mentor, while addressing the audience, said that the performances performed were dedicated to fans and the audiences. “In a short span, the academy has gained huge fans,” he added.

Shreya Acharya, contender, Dance India Dance Lil' Masters from Mumbai, captured the hearts of the people gathered.

While speaking to Daijiworld, Prasanth said that a total of 150 members performed 20 dances. “This is the fourth Darpan function in Udupi. Till date, more than 4,000 events were performed all over India. Prashanth and Group Dance Academy was formed 15 years ago and we have more than 300 students now. We have participated in all India level functions and also on TV channels in Kannada and Hindi.  Few of our students have also appeared on Boogy Woogy, Bollywood, and Sandalwood movies.
