Mangalore: Bus-truck collision - 15 injured

Mangalore, May 22: Fifteen persons were admitted into a hospital in Deralakatte here on Tuesday May 21, after they were injured in an accident involving a bus and a truck. Out of them, two are said to be in critical condition.

The accident occurred at Mittakody near Mudipu. After the axle of the truck that was carrying a load of boulders to B C Road from the direction of Udupi broke, the driver lost control of his truck. As a result, the truck hit the bus coming from the opposite direction. Driver of the truck, Deepak from Muloor, and bus driver, Harish, suffered grave injuries in the accident.

Boliyar gram panchayat president, B K Abdul Jabbar, member, Ibrahim, and several locals helped the injured in getting admitted into the hospital.
