Bantwal: Fr Cyril Fernandes celebrates 25th year of priesthood

Bantwal, May 24: Fr Cyril Fernandes from Jamshedpur diocese celebrated his 25th anniversary of priesthood at St Michael Church in Bellore here on Thursday May 23.
 
As part of the celebration, a thanksgiving mass was offered at the Church in the presence of hundreds of well-wishers.

Fr Cyril Fernandes, son of Leo Fernandes and Juliana Fernandes, was born on July 22, 1960.
 
He did his high school studies at Government Junior College, Benjanapadav, BA from Tata College, Chaibasa, MA from Ranchi University, bachelor of education from Loyola College of Education, Jamshedpur and MS in education from Indiana University, USA.
 
Fr Cyril was ordained priest in the year 1987.

He has served as associate pastor at St Mary’s Church, Bistupur, Jamshedpur (1987-92), associate pastor at St Xavier’s church, Chaibasa (1992-96), pastor at St Xavier’s church, Chaibasa (1996-2000), pastor at St Patrick’s church, Arcola, USA (2000-09), and pastor at St John the Baptist church, Fort Wayne, USA.
