Udupi: Would-be groom killed in road accident

Udupi, May 27: A groom, whose marriage was scheduled to be held in a few days from now, lost his life in an unfortunate accident which occurred on the night of Saturday May 25.

The marriage of Shashidhar (29), son of Narnadu Ganesh Acharya from Uppoor village near here, was to take place later in this month. He was busy distributing marriage invitation cards to friends and relatives, and on Saturday night too, was returning home after visiting several houses, when a bus moving towards Udupi from the direction of Kundapur hit his vehicle near Herayibettu in Uppoor village.

Shashidhar, who fell to the road, had sustained serious injuries. He breathed his last while being transported to a hospital. On the basis of a complaint filed by a local, Ramesh Karkera, a case was registered in Brahmavar police station in this respect.
