Puttur: Housewarming ceremony - boy from family electrocuted

Puttur, May 28: A teenager died at the government hospital here after getting injured at a newly built house, a day before its housewarming ceremony was to be held. The incident occurred at Tenkila near here on Sunday May 26.

The house, located near Tenkila school, belongs to Monappa Gowda. Housewarming ceremony of this house was slated to be held on Monday. Family members got busy on Sunday with the task of decorating the house for the ceremony.

Jagadeesh (16), son of Narayana Gowda from Kanyaya and nephew of Monappa Gowda, suffered electric shocks while decorating the house. He was admitted into the government hospital here.

However, he breathed his last on Sunday evening, without responding to efforts made to save him, it is gathered.

A case in this connection was registered in the police station in the town.
