Udupi: Pigmy collector sets example of honesty

Udupi, May 29: In a heartening incident, a pigmy collector who found valuable items along with cash near Chittaranjan Circle returned it to the rightful owner.

Harish Kanchan, an entrepreneur from Mumbai lost his wallet which contained Rs 21,000 cash and other valuable documents.

This wallet was found by Dayanand Maidan, a pigmy collector at Malpe Meenugarika Society near Chittaranjan circle.

As soon as he found wallet near the circle, Dayanand informed DCIB police who later handed it over to Harish Kanchan. All the contents including the cash were intact.

For his sincerity, district superintendent of police Dr Boralingaiah praised him and lauded him for his honesty.

    Man born with good and clean heart. Those who maintain as they grow are great people. Some become small hearted because of their poverty and some become small hearted when they grow rich. Those are the angels who, irrespective of their status maintains purity in heart.

    Hats-off to you Mr.Dayanand Maidan.
    But the authority(district superintendent of police Dr Boralingaiah) along with praise should have rewarded him with cash and honesty certificate. Or the person who lost the wallet should have rewarded him cash.

    Basically fisherman folk people are honest and hard working.This tradition prevails since time immeorial.They are god fearing nature and whether they go to sea to catch fish or do other business remained by and large honest and sincere.They believe in their hard earning only to live the live.So Pigmy collector has shown the example of "honesty is the best policy".
    Our politicians have to draw inspiration from these folk.
