Udupi: Thieves in guise of customers loot jewellery store

Udupi, Jun 2: Two thieves posing as customers looted Canara jewellery store located in Vidya Ratna Building near Udupi bus stand on Saturday June 2.

The store is owned by Mohan Das from Kannar, Cherkadi.

It is said that they first purchased a silver item. When the owner’s son Vikram was counting the change to give them after payment, the accused stealthily picked up a necklace weighing 80 gram, a bracelet, and gold and pearl earrings from the cash drawer.

The total value of the stolen ornaments is estimated to be Rs 1.85 lac.

A case has been filed in Udupi police station.
