Mangalore: MLA J R Lobo visits rain-affected areas in city

Mangalore, Jun 2: J R Lobo, MLA, Mangalore South Constituency, visited places in the area where some houses have been damaged and unnatural flooding occurred, on Sunday, June 2.

He visited Pumpwell, Ujjodi, Morgans Gate, Mangaladevi, and other places. Lobo  examined drainage problems in some places Pumpwell, two places in Ujjodi, and visited Morgans Gate and Mangaladevi where two houses have been damaged due to the walls collapsing following heavy rain.

A house in Morgans Gate, belonging to Rehman, has been completely damaged after a wall fell on it. It is said that nearly 16 people stay in this house.

Speaking to the media, Lobo said that unnatural flooding in many places has been caused due to the negligence of the builders in the surroundings.

“The MCC officials have been urged to clear off the mess created by these people without any fear and emotions. Tahsildar, engineers, and others officials have been urged to be quick with the disaster management,” he said.

Leaders T K Sudhir, Dennis D'Silva, corporators Praveen Chandra Alva, Asha Gretta D’Silva, and Rathikala, Allwyn D'Silva, K Rithin Kumar, Naveen Lobo, and Melwyn were among those present.

    MLA Lobo is earnestly responding to citizens. He cant be everywhere but citizens can form groups and support him and the local corporator.

    can we have some officials of the MCC to move around with the MLA and to know the intensity of the damage. Mr. MLA, I suggest you pull some officials with you along your trip to the effected areas. The guys around you seems like they are posing for pictures.
