Mangalore: Loss in business drives youth to suicide

Mangalore, Jun 5: Prabhu (24), a resident of Kodical in the city, committed suicide at around midnight on Monday June 2. A report on this incident was filed in Urwa police station.

Shivakumar, brother of Prabhu, who filed the report, stated that Prabhu had suffered losses in his garments business and financial dealings. He informed that after growing suspicious about the intention of his brother in choosing to retire in his office room instead of bedroom on Monday night, he peeped through the window. He said he saw that Prabhu had already hanged himself through the ceiling fan of the office room by using his own lungi.

Shivakumar added that he entered the office then, and with the help of his friend, Santhosh, brought Prabhu down and took him to a hospital. However, on reaching the hospital, they were informed that Prabhu was brought dead, he stated in the complaint.
