Udupi, Jun 8: The body of an unidentified man, which was torn into pieces, was found lying on the middle of the national highway 66 on the northern side of the Yermal bridge in the outskirts of Padubidri on Friday June 7 morning.

A vehicle carrying a daily for distribution saw the pieces, and conveyed the information to Mulky police. The Mulky police gave this information to Padubidri police station. The station house officer of Padubidri, Mahadeva Setti, and other personnel, who were patrolling the town, rushed to the spot. They collected body parts scattered all over the road in plastic covers with the help of some locals. These pieces were then brought to the primary health centre, Padubidri.

These pieces have since been shifted to the mortuary at Ajjarkad here. On the left hand of the body, the letters, G H, are found to have been tattooed. A yellow thread is found around the neck. The body is of normal build, and height is about 5’7”. Faded jeans, red T-shirt, and red innerwear were found on the body.
