Bangalore, Jul 1: June 29 will be a day filled with joy in the history of Darshan Institute of Theology, as 18 of the deacons were conferred with grace of diaconate by Dr Bernard Moras, the Arch bishop of Bangalore at the solemn mass at 3 pm at the chapel.

14 of the brothers were Capuchins of Karnataka and Maharashtra Provinces, three were from TOR and one from the OCD at Carmelaram.

The ceremony was made even brighter due to the presence of the parents and family members of the deacons, a number of our Capuchin Priests  from near and far communities, sisters and parishioners, benefactors, friends and well wishers and the total attendance was jaw-dropping 400 or thereabout.

Since the provincials were away in Rome, Fr Alwyn Dias, vicar provincial of Karnataka, Fr Ghonsalo D’Silva, councillor of St Bonaventure Province, Maharashtra were the delegates. Distinguished guests with Fr Denis Moras, VG of Mangalore Diocese and the Provincials of OCD and TOR community.  Fr Salvadore Fernandes along with his angelic choir added beauty and grace to the Eucharistic celebration.

Br Darick organized the liturgy brilliantly and Br Kennedy chalked out the felicitation programme. Dr Jossy Fernandes, the rector of the institute thanked everyone for their esteemed presence and contribution during the festive meal at 7:30 pm.
