Puttur: Surveyor caught red-handed by Lokayukta officials

Puttur, Jul 2: A person named Mahesh B, working as surveyor at survey department’s office at Bantwal, was caught red-handed at Puttur while accepting bribe, by the Loayukta police on Monday July 1.

It is said that Mahesh had demanded for payment of bribe of Rs 1,500 to attend to the request made by Dejappa Poojary in Padukody Bantwal to survey his land. Poojary gave this information to the Lokayukta police at Mangalore. As suggested by the officials, Dejappa was handing over the said amount to Mahesh at the latter’s home in Samethadka here, when the officials raided place and nabbed him.

Mangalore Lokayukta superintendent of police, Mohandas, deputy superintendent of police, Vittaldas Pai, inspector, Dilip Kumar, and other personnel took part in the raid.
