Spurious foreign liquor seized from auto rickshaw

Kasargod, Jul 3: A police team led by Manjeshwar station house officer, Bijulal, detected and seized huge quantity of foreign liquor from an auto rickshaw on Tuesday July 2.

As many as 590 packets of 90 ml each Prestige whiskey, 58 bottles of Mysore Lancer whiskey containing 180 ml each, and 81 packets of 90 ml each Old Tavern whiskey, were confiscated during the raid.

The incident occurred at Hosangady Angadipadavu near Manjeshwar.

While the auto rickshaw driver succeeded in running away as soon as seeing the policemen, the auto rickshaw was confiscated.   

The police said that they suspect the registration number displayed in the auto rickshaw to be fake. They are now trying to find the real owner of the auto rickshaw by relying on the engine and chassis numbers.
