Udupi, Jul 3: Urban development and district in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, flagged off the silver jubilee celebrations of Padubelle Sri Narayana Guru high school on Monday July 1.

In his address, thanking all the people who contributed to the school, the minister asked everyone to involve themselves completely in the growth of the institution.

Vasanth V Salian, working president of school committee, presided over the function while Fr Paul Rego, parish priest of Holy Cross church, Pamboor was the guest of honour.

Mumbai Billava association vice president Nithyananda D Kotian in his welcome address he led the audience through the past 25 years journey of the school.

Another guest Nagendra Madyasta, deputy director of public instructions, Udupi distributed books and uniforms to students.

S K Salian Belman who used to yearly pay fees of students, Surya Prakash, who used to distribute uniforms, H S Dasanna from Mysore who donated TV to school were honoured on the occasion.

Jeethendra Suvarna, Billava Dubai president, who donated Rs 1 lac towards silver jubilee celebrations, was also honoured on the occasion.

Katapady Shankar Poojary, former president of Zilla Panchayat, local committee vice president Ramachandra Kidiyooru, National award winner Malpe Raghavendra, zilla panchayat member Ida Gibba Noronha, Ashok Suvarna, president of Katapady Vishwanatha Kshetra, Jeenaraja C Salian, Usha S, Jayashankar Kuthpady, Shivaji S Suvarna, Arundathi among others were present.
