Kaup: Women Congress honors Vinay Kumar Sorake

Kaup, Jul 5: "Congress will try to provide 50 % reservation seats for women in the local body elections. Adding to this, we are also working on bringing a new policy wherein 33 % reservation can be provided to women in the Vidhana Sabha and Lokha Sabha," said urban development and district in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.

He addressed the gathering during a felicitation ceremony organized by women congress at the Rajiv Bhavan in Kaup on Wednesday July 4.

"During elections, women are more cable of taking right decision as they cast their vote then the men. Candidates will require a majority of support from women. Also during the assembly election, the women congress has contributed a lot to for the party to win the majority," he said.

Geetha Wagle, president of women congress, Kaup block welcomed the gathering, Agnes D’Sa compered while Prabha B Shetty delivered the vote of thanks.

Naveen Chandra Shetty, Kaup block president, Veronica Cornelio, district president of women congress, Sarasu D Bangera, former Udupi zilla panchayat president, Leena Mathias, former president of DK zilla panchayat, Vinay Balla, Kaup block secretary, Abdul Azeez Hejamadi, Kaup block youth president, Naveen N Shetty Padubidri, Ibrahim, Lava Karkera, Abdulla among others were present.
