New Delhi, Jan 19:
Petroleum Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar on Thursday denied having presented to the Cabinet a proposal for raising LPG and kerosene prices.

"I hotly deny any document called note for Cabinet on fuel prices. It is the job of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to constantly monitor prices and evaluate options for dealing with sensitive petroleum products," he told reporters here.

"There is no note for Cabinet and no date fixed for Cabinet discussions on the issue," he said.

Aiyar said the public sector oil companies have desired an increase in petrol, diesel, LPG and kerosene prices in step with international prices.
