Patna, Jan 20: Both the rear wheels on the right side of an Indian Airlines Boeing flight from New Delhi to Patna burst following ''heavy landing'' here on Thursday, sources said, adding that all the fifty-six passengers and seven crew people on board were safe.

As the wheels thumped on the runway at the Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport here, the tyres burst and the wheels got bent, IA area manager Darshan Singh said.

The 63 people on the flight, IC-809, were evacuated as emergency services stood by, he said. Director of the airport Atul Dixit said the tyres burst due to ''heavy landing''.
