M'lore: Gas cylinder catches fire at Hindustan Auto Works

Mangalore, Jul 9: A carbohydrate gas cylinder caught fire at Hindustan Auto Works, Kodakkal near Kannur here on Tuesday July 9.

The cylinder caught fire while the workers were busy with some welding work.

Luckily, as the cylinder was company made, it did not blast, but the fire blazed for a long time despite efforts by the workers to douse it.

The Kadri police arrived at the spot after about 20 minutes, it is said.

The workers said that the fire brigade too was informed but did not arrive even after 40 minutes.
 
By the time the fire personnel arrived, the workers had sprayed water and managed to bring the fire under control.
