Mangalore: MLA Lobo distributes govt aid to needy

Mangalore, Jul 11: Mangalore south MLA J R Lobo distributed various types of government aid to 679 people in the taluk on Wednesday July 10, in a simple ceremony held at the NGO Hall in the city.

The programme was organized by the revenue department.

The various types of aid distributed were:

National family benefit scheme: Rs 10,000

Destitute widow pension: Rs 500/month

Monthly pension to women: Rs 400/month

Aid to handicapped: Rs 1500/month

Lobo, after distributing the aid, said that the government has managed to give these aids despite financial difficulty and every beneficiary has the responsibility of utilizing the amount for good purposes. He added that only then is the purpose of the aid served.

Hasan Saheb, revenue executive officer, Mangalore A Division, was the master of the ceremony.
